Living the life. =P

Flow

It was an early Wednesday morning at the chapel. I was assigned to guard that night and Sammy decided to join me since we both had to perform for the 5:45am service anyway. Sammy decided to take a short nap before service, but I tend to never sleep so I started practicing my early morning qigong. In the middle of my practice I looked over at Sammy had he was just staring at me with a face like, "WTF?". That was embarrassing.

I started practicing Qigong because I wanted a way to stay healthy without the harsh impact typical work outs have on the body. It's something that's practiced at the freshest time of the day, right when the sun is starting to rise and the air is still crisp from the night's cleansing renewal. That's my favorite time of the day by far.

The more I got into qigong, the more I realized how similar my outtake on life was with the general Taoist philosophy. So from there, I started reading more books on taoism and I started to feel relieved that the ideas I came up from my own self reflection and observations of the world around me were captured in taoism, with much more organization and depth than I could ever explain things with.

One book I cherished in particular was Mentoring: The tao of Giving and Receiving Wisdom.
The reason why related with this book so much is because it touched on some ideas that I hold very dearly such as being open and honest with everyone, leading by actions and not just by words, and most importantly, helping others find the power to help themselves. You can tell a person to do this or change like that, but if you show them how to solve life's dilemmas on their own and empower them with true self-confidence, then you've changed a life for the better.

I've always felt that my life isn't about me, it's about doing as much as I can for others. It's about enjoying each moment and simply admiring the natural unfolding of nature. Everything falls into place when you get rid of duality and see the bigger pictures of things.

Some call me immature because of the way I act and the things I do. I might seem too carefree at times, but I know my mind is in the right place.

I just chose to have a more cheerful disposition on life...so whateves =P

Funnn

My first Sakura-Con experience ever was extremely memorable.

Well the first half wasn't all that awesome.
Registration = 4 hour long wait in line... and we were kind of early.
My heart goes out to those who had to wait longer than I did.

Jason couldn't get in and Jake was only interested in the exhibition hall so he could buy swords so I was pretty sad about not really experiencing anything that the convention had to offer.

Jake and Jason wanted to leave early, so I dropped them back home and then Bryan called and told me to come back since he just got there.

I went back and just shot the breeze with Bryan. We talked about life and just had fun loitering around. That was the best. Sakura was the best ;)

Oh, I bought Aizen's sword while I was there, so I'll be cosplaying as him next year!

Oh, oh, I'm going to comicon next year too. So shall it be written, so shall it be done.

My favorite season is Spring! and Fall!!

I can't choose, but seeing how it's spring time right now, here's the number one reason I love this season.

I love them up close...

I love them from a distance...

I love them on cakes...

I especially love them in anime...

I even love pixel art cherry blossoms...

And here's a combination of pixel blossoms AND a cake!

I'm not completely gay for cherry blossoms, they're just beautifully soothing to look at.

Nature's sign that good things are to come.
