Dreams

Dreams are so odd sometimes.  They piece together the most random and fleeting thoughts you've been having in a way that makes complete sense.

You could start off as old-school Batman who's racing to see his love...

Only to end up at your destination as a more modern-day batman...
(Who is actually half Batman and half Darth Vader)

Then your scenery becomes clouds and you find yourself fighting half of the Japanese-history-equivalent of the person you were a moment ago...

But in the heat of the battle you realize that your a bajillionaire and you can just fly away in your own jet...

And since your now much more asian than you were before, you have have to take some intense ESL classes while on the plane...

Finally, you wake up disappointed because you were just about to make kissies with a sturdiest on the plane when the dream so abruptly stopped. But you also feel relived because you remember how you saw a picture of Pikachu IRL earlier that day and now the entire dream makes sense.

Unfortunately it's the middle of the night and by the time you wake up in the morning, the dream will either be complete jibberish, or you'll have forgotten it entirely =(

Hi Again

I can't believe I haven't blogged since I got back from PI!

man oh man.  There is simply too much to cover in one blog so I'll start with my most recent thought...

I want mold myself into a fighter.

This may seem like an odd idea, especially since I never intend to fight anyone whether it be professionally or otherwise, but it's something I feel I must do.

My background consists of Tae Kwon Do and some general MMA training so I know what fighting is all about and I know it's not what I want to do.  All I want to do is regain the mastery of self-discipline again.  Not only that, but I want to be confident in my abilities as a man to accomplish what I set out to do, starting with changes to my own body.
The one thing that has been motivating me to do so is a manga series called Baki the Grappler (and it's continuing series).  It may sound childish to have dreams based off of manga, anime, cartoons, or comics, but if you read and watch enough of them you will come to find that they can be truly profound and filled overwhelming thoughtfulness and timeless ideas.
Sometimes you read things and completely relate to it in odd ways.  For me, Baki was one of those readings that completely consumed me and slightly changed how I view myself as a person.  It's odd because I'm against fighting in general, but I'm so very interested in seeing ways that people empower themselves to become better at whatever they do.

So that's one of my ongoing goals right now.  Mold myself into this..

Or at least try =P

P.S.

I sorta missed blogging

Where I is?

I haven't blogged very much during the first week of 2010 and I learned that it's okay.  My life revolves around the internet so much, and all of my time is dedicated towards the heightening of my internet-knowledge stature that I've almost lost myself.
Thankfully I'll being in the Philippines for almost three weeks so I'll be able to re-learn what life has to offer besides online LOLs and OMGs.

Meeting my giant family is what I'm looking forward to the most! Can't wait!

I think that what people Don't tell you should be respected just as much as what they do.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I love you already 2010!

A new year means new promises to my friends, myself, and my Father in Heaven.

This year's themes will be...

Love, humility, passion, and action!

This was one of the best new years eves I've ever had!  I spent the evening at Judee Ann's house with some of the other families from Everett.  Judee Ann and Ariel were the only other kadiwa there, but it's always fun playing with the binhi.  I guess it more like an exhibition of my Super Smash Brawl skills against the kids. hahahaha  Then we played some Uno and some Sorry to top off the night.  It was the first new years eve I actually spent with the minister's family so I feel like it was such a blessing to have a prayer lead by ka Jun right before midnight.  There was a TON of food like orange chicken, calamari, and palabok... my favorites!  Starting the year off right this time.  Praises be unto the Almighty God for all that he has done in 2009.

sadness

so my iPhone got all messed up after I tried doing certain stuff to it and it sucks because I had all of my blog post ideas on there. so poopy =/

no SAM

As much as I wanted to see the Michelangelo at the SAM today, I have to say that the day ended up being perfect regardless.

Clarissa and I went downtown to check out the exhibit, but it turned out the place was closed due to it being December 24 *Shakes fist angrily towards Rome* so we ended up just going to the flagship Tully's downtown and talked about everything that was going on and all that transpired throughout 2009.
It's so rare to have a mindset and have thoughts on life truly harmonize with another person so that's why when spend time with them, it's as if the stresses and burdens of this life dissipate into the breeze.

I sincerely love all of my close friends, but I'm only grateful for a few of them... Clarissa being one of them.

New Saying

So remember how I came up with the word tunapiss? (When your pee smells like canned tuna for unknown reasons [too much protein?].)

Well I just thought of a new one...

COUPEE ([cou]gh + [pe]ter)
Definition: A classification of urine which has a similar smell to drip coffee due to a recent and/or mass consumption of any type of coffee beverage.

Threadsy

There are so many websites that try to utilize facebook connect or use twitter access to try to bring extra features to those websites, but threadsy isn't like those.  Threadsy is not about glamming-up what's already good, they're purpose is to bring everything together in harmony.

It's separated into a messages side and statuses side which is so very helpful for seeing what's new at a glance.  It also updates live so that you never have to worry about refreshing the page or any kind of nonsense like that.  There is also the ability to update both your fb and twitter statuses of course which makes it an all-in-one stop for major internet communication.

I think that the thing that sets threadsy apart is how intelligent it is in design.  Everything is always right in front of your face and there's no navigating through page after page, or having to reload the entire page just to check one of your email folders.  Oh, and how could I forget to mention how beautiful the interface is!

So if you want to get your life organized and stop dealing with multiple websites, threadsy is the place for ALL of your email accounts, fb needs, twitter updates, AND IMing needs!

3

It's been a weird couple of days.  I've spent a lot of time at my parent's house because the garage is ubber messy and no one cleans there.  So with all of my free time for the past two days I've been cleaning and organizing so that people can find stuff and have the ability to simply walk through it.
My two sisters and I are reunited again because Bonnie flew over from MN a couple of days ago and she'll be here until we come back from PI so that cool.  What's weird is that we're all getting a long a little too well.  It's slightly disturbing, but whatever.  We even sat around and took pictures together just for fun.  So weird.

Sweet Smelling Armpits

I spend a lot of time in the same church cloths on Sundays and because of that my white undershirts always become pretty moist in the armpit regions by the end of the day.  It's eight hours or running around and getting stuff done in layers of cloths.

And you know it's so hard to tell what you actually smell like throughout the day, and it's even something you typically don't think about.  So it's embarrassing when you get home and realize you built up some major funk throughout the day.

But in contrast to that regrettable discovery at the end of the day is the sweet and satisfying revelation that your armpit is blasting minty freshness as opposed to garlic and durian.  It doesn't happen every time, but when it does you feel like you conquered the day with grace and style.  When you look back on the activities that transpired it's like watching a feel-good movie with a fairytale ending!
So thank you to all of those deodorants that work.  You are the makers of self-confidence.

A Good Night

Last night we had our final practice and it was great!  It's been a long time since our choir as a whole has had a really good final practice.  We usually get lectured about how unprepared we are and stuff like that, but not this time.  You could just tell something changed for the better this time.  Loved it.

Then after final practice we had devotional prayer and the DM was there for some reason so he gave us a short lecture on the meaning of the year-end Thanksgiving and how we should be prepared and it was a nice good.  Then he prayed for the devo and it was a BA prayer for sure.  hahaha  I remember right when he was walking up to the podium my exact thoughts were, "Alright! Spiritual admonitions from the District Minister!" LOL

It was such a good night that I didn't even want to change out of my cloths when I got home, you know, to savor the moment.

A big thing from the final practice that really stuck with me was when our DCM told us to teach our hearts to be closer to God.  I've read endless psychology books and tried to find patterns in human condition or development and one thing I've figured out is that people aren't as helpless as they think they are.  We all have the power inside ourselves to change however we like.  I know it's so much easier to change for the worse, to give into temptation and follow the common belief that your just a weak human that can't help it, but that's not true.
Teach yourself to follow a better path, to improve in the ways that you want, because if you have the belief that you can, then you will.  It takes repetition and conscious activeness towards your goal, but you can reach it with time.

Special Morning Edition

I'm lucky enough to have a TV facing the front desk at work so in the mornings I always turn it onto Q13 news because I've always thought Lily Jang was waaaay cute, but then today I thought I'd find her twitter so that I could reply to her w/ this...

Well I continued to watch her on TV, then once the commercial break hit I got a reply!...

And I was like WOW!!! No way!!  So then I replied to her again and said...

I of course felt a little suspicious and didn't even expect another reply but one still came...

So then I was like EEEEEE!!!!!!!! <<<<<<<33333333
And I guess I was too excited about the thought of it actually being Lily who's replying that I forgot to add @liljang in my next reply...

*Backstory* My supervisor is married to the evening news anchor on the same station.  There were times he told me that he could introduce me to Lily but I'd start to hyperventilate at just the thought! */Backstory*

Well I didn't even realize I forgot to add her in the reply until I got a direct message!

And THAT was the icing on the twitter cake!  hahaha
Definitely my twitter moment of the year!!

"looked at your page."
*BLUSHING*
hahahahhaha

Just one more reason I love twitter!

Yummy Phobia

I have a few magazines about Seattle lying around because they all have great restaurant suggestions inside, but I'm salivating already for this one..

65 different sweets all over Seattle.  Enough said.

Google Voice

To kick of this series of my favorite apps that I personally started using in 2009 is GV.

Here's a little breakdown of what you can do...

  • Ring multiple lines at once. (House, cell, work, etc.)
  • Choose which line rings depending on who's calling.
  • Choose parts of your phone number. (414-YORJ) Cheyah!
  • Free texting and free minutes when using a VoIP service.
  • Voicemail transcription to email and text.
  • Automatically saves all texts and voicemails forever.
  • Easily transfer contacts to different phones w/ google contacts.

I depend on GV so much that I can't imagine life without it.  It's a part of me and I, a part of it.

It's just one of those services that makes life great again.  2010 should be the year of the Nexus One (Google Phone) and I can't wait for the awesomeness that Google will add to the cell phone world!

HOLLERRRRRR

It's weird how my body is already use to being awake all day without a problem.  It only takes a day for me to go from working a week at night, to spending all day with friends and catching up on chores.  I feel sorry for my body sometimes.

Watching Old Couples Holding Hands

Every morning when I got home from work while I was living at my parent's house I'd see a couple walking along the street.  It was always during the earliest hours of the day, hot or cold, rain or shine, and the thing that I noticed the most was how their hands were always intimately clasped with each other's.

They were more than just an elderly couple that looked full of life and energy, they looked like they had a love that perfectly matured along their journey together.  I can't even imagine the kind of love they have together.  Holding hands for years and years.  They're were two people that gave me so much hope for the future... that maybe I can end up with the happiest of all endings.

Free Time

Let the relaxation begin.

So here's the plan.  Everyday I'm going to work out three time.  It's going to be swimming, cycling, and prison workouts.  Should be fun. Or not.

Hopefully my grandma's house in Iloilo is near the beach so I can run on the sand and swim everyday.

So lately it seems like everyone is trying to hook me up with a girl.
Don't get me wrong, it's very much appreciated...
it's just sort of weird as well.  Weird how everyone tries at once I mean.

Maybe I'm just coming off as more sad and pathetic lately?

Loneliness is the human condition. Cultivate it. The way it tunnels into you allows your soul room to grow. Never expect to outgrow loneliness. Never hope to find people who will understand you, someone to fill that space. And intelligent, sensitive person is the exception, the very great exception. If you expect to find people who will understand you, you will grow murderous with disappointment. The best you'll ever do is to understand yourself, know what it is that you want, and not let the cattle stand in your way.

- Janet Fitch

EEE!

This picture is so packed full of awesomeness that it deserves the triple post!  (Blog, twitter, facebook)
